Description
A unique torn-edged square plaque for display on a stand. This ceramic piece is an abstract design made for a mantle piece or a windowsil of a conservatory. Very rustic in appearance, the rough clay is left bare and exposed without glaze in parts, to contrast with the glazes. A lace doily texture and hand drawn geometric shapes add visual variety to the piece. I made this over two days, and it was kiln fired to 1200C, hence it is quite strong while appearing fragile.
size – 200 mm wd x 200 mm ht
material – groggy stoneware grey clay glazed in antique reds and rusty oxides
